How to alter your MiFID classification. Following instruction is only applicable for clients who do business with Rabo International, Global Financial Markets, location Utrecht:
Under the MiFID obligations we have classified you as either Eligible Counterparty or Professional Client and in some cases as a Retail Client. Under the system of the new rules and regulations you may ask us to opt up or opt down to another classification level. This must be done in writing, explaining your reasons.
It is required that your opting request should be written on official company paper with company name and logo and should include the following information:
Date of request, Statutory name, Statutory address, Name and Function of Authorized person, Name of your Rabobank Account manager, any identification issued by Rabo International (e.g. account numbers etc.), current MiFID classification, requested MiFID classification, arguments for the opting request.
Your opting request should always be signed by an authorized person, as known by Rabobank.
For your convenience we provide you sample letters for each specific opting request.
Please note that information as displayed in the sample letters is purely of an indicative nature and does not confer any rights.
We would like to warn you that choosing to opt up from Professional Client to Eligible Counterparty or from Retail Client to Professional Client implies a lower protection level.

As a general policy, Rabobank International has decided to welcome opting requests on a company basis. However, Rabobank International is not obliged to agree to a client’s request. For operational reasons we will normally not accept opting requests on a transaction-by-transaction basis, with a possible exception for structured products.
