The Rabobank Group pursues an active policy aimed at promoting the use of sustainable energy. The organisation is also dedicated to reducing current energy consumption as much as possible.
The Rabobank Group has finalised a master contract for its Dutch branches for the purchase of green electricity. This electricity is generated by windmills that are financed by Rabobank. The aim is to achieve the greatest possible share of green electricity within the organisation’s total energy supply. In 2007, 85% of the group’s electricity was green electricity.

Various local member banks utilise green financing to apply sustainable energy technologies: these include energy-conscious options such as heat pumps, subterranean cold and heat storage and sun panels.
