Partnerships Rabobank Foundation

Rabobank Foundation Participation

The Rabobank Foundation actively seeks to join forces with other organisations in order to carry out its activities in developing countries. The Rabobank Foundation naturally works closely with Rabo Development, the division of the Rabobank Group that assists rural banks in developing countries to be transformed into modern financial services providers with a nationwide network of branch offices.

The foundation furthermore works in close and intensive partnership with organisations that share its vision and mission based on ‘development from the bottom up’. This makes it possible to create real synergy by deploying relatively limited resources and manpower. The Rabobank Foundation is currently an active participant in the following alliances:

Rabobank Foundation, Oikocredit and ICCO work in close partnership within Terrafina to promote the provision of agricultural credit and other financial services in rural markets in Africa that are insufficiently served by established financial institutions.

Twenty Dutch partners, including Rabobank Foundation, have pooled their resources within AgriProFocus. The related aim is to enable the countervailing power of farmers and their economic lobbies to play a more prominent role in local and export markets.

Stichting Doen, Solidaridad and Rabobank Foundation have joined forces in the Progreso Coffee Fund and the Progreso programme to promote 38 fair trade and organisational coffee co-operatives that are primarily located in Latin America.

Partnership with the co-financing organisation Cordaid in several projects in the Netherlands and abroad and in fundraising. Rabobank provides (micro) financial expertise for small- and medium-sized business development at Cordaid’s partners.

Partnership with co-financing organisation Woord en Daad. Eleven local member Rabobanks and the Rabobank Foundation are co-financing a microcredit organisation in Bangladesh within the context of this partnership.

Rabobank is a member of the Netherlands Platform for Microfinance, which is dedicated to achieving optimum effectiveness and efficiency by uniting and coordinating the range of Dutch organisations that offer microfinancing in developing countries.
