Rabo Development is active in developing countries that have economic, political and social stability. Prospective partner banks are organisations that have a relatively large network of branch offices that preferably provides national coverage.

Rabo Development takes out a (minority) share in these banks and is represented on the board in order to be able to help shape the bank’s strategy and provides technical assistance for all the banking operation functions. The latter is carried out by deploying Rabobank employees who share their specialised knowledge with the local bank officers during short-term postings as consultants.
