Growind

Construction largest onshore wind farm in the Netherlands

In the Eemsharbour in Groningen (northern part of the Netherlands), the 63 megawatt wind farm called Growind is being built. This wind farm consists of 21 Vestas V90 3MW wind turbines, owned by 21 private individuals. Installed power output is 63MW. Upon completion in March 2008 this park will supply 54,000 households with green electricity. Growind BV has especially been founded to develop, finance and exploit the wind farm for these 21 private individuals who are also the shareholders.

Greenhouse

In May 2006 in the Netherlands the first greenhouse was opened that emits no greenhouse gas. Project financing in the sum of EUR 5.5 million and a start-up subsidy of EUR 240,000 were provided. The greenhouse stores superfluous solar heat in underground water tanks and releases the energy when required. On balance, the new greenhouse actually consumes less energy than it stores. The excess is available for other purposes, such as heating homes.

Large private wind park in the Netherlands

On 17 June 2006 the largest private wind park in the Netherlands was opened. Rabobank realised a combined lease/project financing for this Kubbeweg Wind Park (Flevoland). In 2006 Rabobank realised a combined lease/project financing for the Kubbeweg Wind farm (Flevoland). The project was largely funded by attractive green funds of Rabo Green Bank. The Kubbeweg farmers commissioned the construction of 17 wind turbines with a total capacity of 34 megawatt. That is enough to provide 25,000 households per year with electricity. Windunie, the alliance between owners of Dutch wind turbines, is selling the green electricity to companies and private individuals.
