Codes and Guidelines
The Rabobank Group has established its vision and ambition in a mission statement and has formulated a general code of conduct. The mission statement and the code of conduct define the latitude within which the bank’s policy and the employees’ activities must take place. The statement and the code form the rational framework within which targets come about and dilemmas are clarified.
In addition to the general code of conduct, Rabobank has formulated special guidelines regarding financial services in relation to specific social issues. One such guideline is the Human Rights Statement that was formulated in 2002. This guideline states the scope of the bank’s responsibility. The more practical human rights position paper was developed in order to improve the guideline’s applicability to banking activities. The Rabobank Group wishes to contribute to making the food and agribusiness more sustainable. The Food and Agribusiness Principles are our guidance.
