Partnerships Rabobank Foundation

Rabobank Foundation Participation

The Rabobank Foundation partners with organisations that share our vision and mission. Working together increases our effectiveness by mobilising more resources, expertise and funding for the projects we support.

We collaborate with external organisations as well as other Rabobank divisions. For example, we work closely with Rabo Development. This is the development arm of Rabobank. It helps rural banks in developing countries evolve into modern financial service providers.

Some of the external alliances we participate in include:

The Liliane Foundation is a Dutch charity that helps children with disabilities in developing countries. Its approach is highly personalised and aims to integrate the children fully into society. In addition to medical treatment, it supports their social rehabilitation and personal growth. Through vocational training, (special) education and income-generating projects, the children and their families can enjoy a better quality life.

Better Cotton is a joint initiative between aid organisations (NGOs) and the private sector to make cotton production more sustainable. This benefits the environment and helps small-scale cotton growers make a better living from their crops. The Rabobank Foundation is a founding member of the fast-track programme designed to speed up implementation of the Better Cotton system.  We provide small-scale cotton farmers with technical and financial support and help them set up well-organised cooperatives.

The Rabobank Foundation works with fellow Dutch development organisations Agrofair Assistance Development, ICCO and microfinance provider DOEN Foundation to support fruit producer organisations in Asia, Latin America and Africa.

Terrafina Microfinance was set up by the Rabobank Foundation in partnership with development organisation ICCO and microfinance financier Oikocredit International.  It provides agricultural credit and other financial services in rural areas in Africa.

This is a partnership of 20 Dutch organisations that helps farmers and farmer organisations in developing countries to be entrepreneurial and play a more prominent role in local and export markets.

The Rabobank Foundation works with organisations such as Dutch microfinance provider DOEN Foundation and development agency Solidaridad to help small-scale coffee producers and co-operatives primarily in Latin America.

The Rabobank Foundation partners with Dutch development charity Cordaid to co-finance projects in the Netherlands and abroad, as well as on joint fundraising initiatives. The Foundation also helps Cordaid’s local partners with microfinance expertise to develop small and medium-sized businesses.

Woord en Daad is a Dutch Christian organisation fighting poverty in developing countries. The Rabobank Foundation and 11 local Rabobanks are co-financing a Woord en Daad microcredit organisation in Bangladesh.

Microfinance is an effective tool to fight poverty, enabling disadvantaged people to take control of their own lives. The Netherlands Platform for Microfinance (NPM) comprises 17 Dutch organisations – including the Rabobank Foundation – that work together to coordinate and improve the effectiveness of their microfinance activities in developing countries.
