Our partners, in turn, proactively contribute a great deal to the project, in the shape of financial contributions from the local community and customers/members,  manpower and commitment.

Whenever we consider providing support, we ask whether it will create the prospect of financial self-sufficiency. Our support must pave the way for the cooperatives to be able ultimately to service their members without receiving external support. Mobilising the members’ own savings considerably helps achieve this aim at savings and credit cooperatives. In this way, the support of the Rabobank Foundation catalyses development.

Another key role performed by the Rabobank Foundation is guiding, advising and coaching cooperative organisations in developing countries. In this way, such organisations gain access to our unique banking expertise and experience in business and private financing, internal organisation, cooperative management and administration, IT systems and product development.
