Member Certificates
Rabobank Member Certificates are an investment product for members of the local Rabobanks and personnel of the Rabobank Group. The certificates give members the opportunity to invest in a risk averse product with a relatively high, variable return. The total outstanding amount of Member Certificates is now EUR 6.3 billion and they are classified as Tier 1 Capital.
Capital Securities
Capital Securities are subordinated notes issued directly out of Rabobank Nederland and rank pari passu with the Trust Preferred Securities which have been issued between 1999 and 2004.
Trust Preferred Securities
Trust Preferred Securities pay a non-discretionary dividend and are redeemable on a specific date or at the option of the holder. The remaining Trust Preferred Securities (III-VI) and Capital Securities are recognised as 'Equity' as there is no formal obligation to repay the principal or to pay the dividend.
- October 2004: TPS issued by Rabobank Capital Funding III through VI, Rabobank raised EUR 2 billion hybrid Tier 1 capital via a multi tranche issue
- November 2003: Trust Preferred Securities II, Rabobank raised USD 1.75 billion Tier 1 capital
- November 1999: Trust Preferred Securities, Rabobank raised 650 million Tier 1 capital
