Changes in Brazil's fertiliser industry (July 2010)

Brazil’s reliance on fertiliser imports and international price volatility threatens farmers’ profitability. The Brazilian government has responded by announcing its goal to become self-sufficient in fertiliser production, which further supports the industry’s current expansion process. Production of the country’s two most important fertilisers, potash and phosphate, is expected to double in the next five years.
