FAR New York analyst Christopher Noble concludes in his Rabo Ag Focus report that U.S. pistachios production has grown over the past 10 years, driven by growth in demand from both domestic and export markets. The challenge will be to continue to grow the market as the additional pistachio acreage comes into bearing age. Serious efforts need to continue to be put forth to substantially increase the demand for U.S.-grown pistachios. Duty free access to growing export markets will be a critical factor in the demand equation, pertaining particularly to emerging consumer markets in Asia and Latin America.
