Rabo Ag Focus - US Cotton

After peaking above USD 0.80 per pound in late 2003, cotton prices have averaged around USD 0.50 for the past three years, under the pressure of increasing global competition, a lull in purchases from China and a build up of stocks in the U.S. Despite this, the outlook for the U.S. cotton sector in the long term is promising.
