The Rabobank Foundation works to improve the lives of disadvantaged people worldwide. Our philosophy is based upon Rabobank’s cooperative heritage and close community involvement.

Our mission
Since 1973, the Rabobank Foundation has supported projects that promote economic participation and self-sufficiency. We are active in the Netherlands and internationally, providing both financial aid and technical support

In the Netherlands, we focus on projects promoting social inclusion and empowerment, irrespective of people’s background or ability. For example, we sponsor a national initiative that helps underprivileged youngsters participate in sport.

Internationally, we help small-scale farmers and entrepreneurs to become economically independent, particularly in developing countries. We do this through microfinance loans and by sharing our expertise with small cooperatives to promote cooperative savings and loan schemes.

Sharing profit
The Rabobank Foundation is an independent organisation. We are funded by the Rabobank group, which donates a percentage of its annual profits to our activities. Over the years, our funding sources have grown to include donations from customers and employees, as well as repayments of loans we have provided. This has allowed us to widen our reach and support even more initiatives
