Switching from the Dutch to the European payments system
What is the best time for switching to European payment instruments? That depends on your future wishes and the arrangements in place for your present payment transactions. The payment instruments you are currently using or wish to use in the future will determine the best time to switch over.
You can already make and receive payments with the Euro Payment. Other European payment instruments will become available as from 2011. Dutch and European payment instruments will probably be used alongside each other until 2014. You can opt to switch to SEPA as soon as a European payment instrument becomes available. Equally, you can opt to wait until all European payment instruments are available and switch over to all of them at once.
