Companies in the Dutch meat processing sector are of vital importance for the total sector because of their value adding activities. The existing trend towards convenience, grazing and dining out implicates an expected growth of the processed meat products and therefore good opportunities for these companies. However, Rabobank expects 35% of the companies to close down. The remaining companies need to have sufficient size and need to be flexible, client oriented, professional and cost efficient to survive in this dynamic sector.
