In her AgFocus report Jennifer Cole (FAR New York) concludes that strong global dynamics for beef exports over the next several years wil provide a favourable environment for Canada, assuming a return to normal market access. Market opportunities still exist, competition will intensify and the importance of market access and free trade will only become more important. Although four years have lapsed since the first BSE case was discovered in Canada, the sector remains disjointed. Increasing focus on export markets further afield will be necessarily.
