The Argentinean poultry industry

The competitive position of the poultry industry in Argentina has increased strongly over the last few years. Devaluation of the Argentine peso in 2001 has made poultry products from Argentina more cost competitive than most other countries. The world largest poultry importers are actively seeking alternative suppliers and Argentina is one of the few countries in the world with the potential to increase poultry production, and subsequent exports, significantly. The 2006 HPAI crisis could hamper the short-term growth of the poultry industry in Argentina.
