Food & Agribusiness Research and Advisory (FAR) is Rabobank’s global F&A knowledge provider. FAR comprises a global team of analysts that continuously accumulates knowledge in major F&A sectors, issues and trends.
The department consists of a central unit in Utrecht and smaller teams in various countries around the globe. By sharing the extensive sector knowledge with colleagues in the bank in a variety of ways, the overall knowledge level of the bank, with regard to F&A business and clients, is boosted.
FAR covers all major F&A sectors worldwide. The emphasis is on covering all relevant issues throughout the food chain, from production to the consumer, from brand strategies to environmental issues, from world trade flows to chain control. FAR’s sector knowledge is reflected in reports, maps, presentations and advisory services to Rabobank clients.
FAR uses its extensive knowledge of F&A sector trends and corporate strategies to play an advisory role to its existing and prospective clients: in M&A pitches, in strategic discussions with the management of companies and in paid advisory mandates such as Growth strategies, Country entry strategies, Repositioning strategies, Feasibility studies and Co-operative strategies.
Rabobank is active in numerous F&A conferences around the world. The conference activities demonstrate the bank's commitment to and involvement with the F&A business worldwide.
The department's numerous publications mirror the bank's extensive knowledge of F&A sector trends and corporate strategies. Our product package consists of extensive publications (F&A Reviews) short and topical publications (Industry Notes), Country Banking reports for the retail market and World Maps - that offer both global and local perspectives.
