African swine fever has spread rapidly across Southeast Asia this year, and supply disruptions are impacting pork prices and consumption. As a consequence, the region is struggling to cope with pork shortages. Both Vietnam and the Philippines have seen this impact and will likely see more herd losses next year. We think this will affect long-term investments and trade, not just for pork but for all kinds of meat.
