Highlights

Brazilian soybean farmgate prices decreased by 1.5% MOM in October. The start of the US harvest and the appreciation of the Brazilian real were the main drivers of the lower local prices. Farmgate corn prices decreased by 8% MOM in October. Despite the monthly decline, strong domestic demand continues to support local prices, limiting the competitiveness of Brazilian corn exports. Brazilian soybean exports reached 7.4m metric tons in September, a 25% decrease from the previous month. Year-to-date, soybean exports totaled 100m metric tons, representing 7% growth compared with the previous season. Corn exports in September totaled 5.2m metric tons, up 12% MOM. RaboResearch forecasts that total 2026 export volumes will decline relative to 2025. According to CONAB, soybean planting in Brazil has reached 16%, 4 percentage points ahead of this time last year. There are currently no concerns about soybean planting progress, which should allow safrinha corn to be planted within the ideal window.
