Highlights

Brazilian soybean farmgate prices increased by 8% in September. Despite Brazil harvesting a record 2025/26 soybean crop, prices trended higher over the past month, supported by record demand and persistent uncertainties across the soybean complex. Farmgate corn prices increased by 8% MOM in August. Higher CBOT futures have recently improved the competitiveness of Brazilian corn exports, supporting export demand in the coming months. Brazilian soybean exports reached 9.8m metric tons in August, an 8% decrease compared to July 2025. The Brazilian soybean offseason, combined with the US harvest and anticipated stronger US exports to China, could limit Brazil’s soybean exports in Q4 2026. Corn exports in August totaled 4.7m metric tons, up 140% from the previous month. RaboResearch forecasts that total 2026 export volumes will decline compared to 2025. Paraná, Mato Grosso, and São Paulo have started the 2026/27 soybean season, but planting progress remains limited. Weather concerns in Mato Grosso and Paraná may temporarily slow fieldwork, though it is still too early to identify any significant risks to crop development or yield potential.
