Rabobank expects that the evolution of convenience foods in the US, coupled with health-and-wellness trends, will result in increasing demand for specialty edible oils and fats. According to senior analysts Oscar Tjakra and Stephen Nicholson, “Though US consumers are demanding more convenience in preparing their food, health-and-wellness trends and sustainable sourcing will remain key drivers for ‘modern’ consumers. These drivers will impact consumption of edible oils in the US and play a critical role in demand in the next decade.”
