Ryan had a long career in energy and commodities markets and had extensive experience on both the buy-side and sell-side of the business.

Ryan started his career on the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange and was fortunate enough to experience the energy markets pre-electronic trading. As electronic trading took hold, Ryan moved off the exchange floor and began his trading career at Wells Fargo where he first traded US natural gas before moving on to manage the crude and refined products trading book. Ryan then went on to work on the buy-side of the market, first as a research analyst and ultimately as a discretionary portfolio manager. Ryan was able to leverage his analytical trading approach, programming skills, and fundamental market knowledge to develop robust risk-adjusted trading strategies. Ryan brought his years of trading and analytical experience to Rabobank where he regularly published both quantitative and fundamental research for energy markets and was responsible for issuing the bank’s official price forecasts.
