Global Daily: What does Victory look like in 2025?
Yesterday was the 80th commemoration of V.E. Day celebrating the Allied victory over Nazism, a war my grandfather fought in that still has an imminent presence to me. Indeed, one human lifetime after the end of WW2, the world is still defined by it in many ways. Yet today, there is increasing recognition that the architecture and institutions put in place post-1945 are crumbling. Moreover, there is no clear model of what ‘Victory’ from here would mean.
