Some, hopefully many, readers may be familiar with the fantastic 2004 film, Mean Girls (we don’t speak about the 2024 musical version). If not, the plot centers on a group of petty high schoolers collaborating to take down main mean girl, Regina George, but end up turning into mean girls themselves in the process. Change some names around and raise the stakes, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit hosted in Shanghai this past weekend starts to show some resemblance.
