The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) holds its policy rate meeting on October 28th to review the level of the Official Cash Rate (OCR). RaboResearch has previously projected the RBNZ to hold the OCR unchanged at the October meeting. We today revise our forecast to project a 25bp increase to take the OCR up to 3.00%. We now project the peak in the OCR cycle at 3.50%, to be reached in Q1 of 2027.
