What NOW Aquafeed?
The innovation landscape for alternative feed ingredients is very fertile, and great progress has been made towards adopting alternative ingredients. This session will explore what the farmed salmon value chain can do to build reliable markets for alternative ingredients - like algal oil and insect protein - to expand into. Novel focuses on the seafood and aquaculture industry. He brings a strong analytical background and private equity experience. In prior roles, he worked at Climate Fund Managers in The Hague and Thomson Reuters in Hong Kong as a consultant focused on hedge funds and their investment strategies.

Inspiration for seafood executives Plenary session
Gorjan Nikolik, our Senior Global Seafood Specialist, will present the keynote in the plenary session on Wednesday morning. The title of his presentation is 'China: Unsatiable Consumer or Key Competitor in the global seafood industry'.

Responsible sourcing, traceability and production of all feed ingredients used in farmed salmon’s diets is key to mitigating and monitoring the impacts of the value chain. In this one-hour-long session, representatives from the marine ingredient value chain will address sourcing policies, projects to drive changes in fisheries, traceability and lifecycle assessment works. Carlos Mera heads Rabobank’s Agri Commodity Market Research team.
