Apply for a donation

To determine whether your project qualifies for a donation from the Rabobank Employees Fund, please complete the following checklist:

1. Is the project situated in one of our focus countries?

  • Netherlands
  • Africa: Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania or Uganda
  • Asia: Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or India
  • Latin America: Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Mexico or Peru

2. Is the project concerned with one of the following themes?

In the Netherlands

  • Social enterprise and labour market participation (for social entrepreneurs and foundations who create work for the disadvantaged on the labour market)
  • Financial education (helping young people and adults become financially self-reliant)
  • Sport for people with learning disabilities or the physically impaired


  • Support for agricultural entrepreneur or farmer organisations (self-help groups, cooperatives)
  • Irrigation for farming communities
  • Education (agricultural, cooperative or financial know-how)

3. Does the project meet the following basic criteria?

  • The project falls within the scope (themes and focus countries) of the Rabobank Foundation’s activities
  • The project has been nominated by a Rabobank employee or retiree
  • The applicant must be a legal entity. This can be a foundation, association or social enterprise, or a combination of various legal entities.
  • Donation of at least 5,000 euros up to a maximum of 45.000 euros. (In the case of donations above 10.000 euros at least one co-financier is required
  • The programme has not yet commenced
  • The local population is closely involved in the project
  • The continuity of the project must have been secured

We do not support

  • Funding for individuals
  • PR activities, publicity campaigns and fundraising activities
  • Media productions (television broadcasts, documentaries, DVDs etcetera)
  • Activities that are eligible for government subsidies
  • Activities of a specifically medical nature
  • Research projects, scientific or otherwise
  • Contributions for the construction, renovation or refurbishment of physical buildings or real estate
  • Running costs (maintenance, transport, storage costs etc)
  • Training and education days, conferences, seminars, festivals and other events or one-off events
  • General bolstering of third party reserves
  • Support for volunteer projects (building trips etc) and travel or accommodation costs for volunteer workers
