California wildfires impact communities and wine producers

In this video update on the impact of the California wildfires in the wine region, Rabobank’s Stephen Rannekleiv, Global Beverages Strategist, urges tourists to return to the area and support the communities. The fires were devastating in many ways. First and foremost because 40 people lost their lives and many communities were severely disrupted. Winegrowers in the Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino wine areas were relatively fortunate says Rannekleiv. The grape harvest was almost finished when the fires started. But the wine houses are suffering from the major drop in tourism at peak season.
