FoodBytes! comes to London

Calling all agrifood start-ups. Applications are now open for FoodBytes! London. Following successful events in North America and the Netherlands, Rabobank’s pitch competition meets networking event comes to the UK in September.

Expert advice

FoodBytes! London takes place on Thursday, September 13, with a mentorship workshop for selected start-ups the day before. The workshop will be led by experts on fundraising, PR, branding, consumer trends, legal and go-to-market strategy. September 13 will see the start-ups pitch to a jury of industry insiders. Winners get access to the mentorship and connections they need to grow their businesses.

The London event is supported by presenting sponsor ADM – a specialty ingredients provider to food and beverage companies. Supporting sponsor British dairy company Dairy Crest manufactures market-leading food brands including Cathedral City cheddar as well as specialized ingredients.

New nutrition trends

FoodBytes! San Francisco in March demonstrated that the connection between food and health has become widely appreciated by consumers, but holistic wellness remains an elusive goal for many due to factors like convenience. We are looking forward to seeing how these trends will continue to build momentum this year and to see if new trends including meal and food replacement drinks, fermented beverages and personalized nutrition will gain traction.

Agrifood start-ups across Europe that demonstrate product innovation, commercial viability, traction and a focus on sustainability are encouraged to apply for FoodBytes! London. Four years of FoodBytes!

Launched by Rabobank in San Francisco in 2015, FoodBytes! combines a stand-alone next-generation pitch competition with networking opportunities. FoodBytes! events have attracted over 3,500 attendees since launch and received over 1,400 applications from 35 countries. More than 210 companies have pitched at FoodBytes!, including Europe-based start-ups Impact Vision, Koupe and Novolyze.
