“Consumers of Australian food-grade cereal grains, both domestic and international, will need to adapt their procurement strategies to ensure supply into the future,” according to Cheryl Kalisch Gordon, senior grains & oilseeds analyst. “Longer-term contracts will become increasingly important. Alternatively, grain users may consider expanding operations in export zones, where grain costs will be lower, though they will, of course, need to consider this in the context of then freighting processed goods.”
