Last week, the longest US federal government shutdown in history ended. However, since most of the federal government is now funded through a stopgap measure rather than a full fiscal year spending bill, we could say that the shutdown has been suspended (through January 30) rather than solved. A new shutdown in February cannot be ruled out.
